It seems that everywhere you look there are stray dogs! Most appear to be starving, thin, sick, and ill. A good percentage have flees and some had tics that we have seen. It really breaks my heart to see them! Many times when you see these strays, they are eating any trash or handouts they can find. You have to be careful because they dart out into the streets so it makes driving even more challenging than it already is here. It's a good idea to not pet the stray dogs, but some people can't help it and the locals seem to take them in almost as pets. Dr. Gandhi was telling us that they do have areas reserved to protect the dogs, but it's not enough.

No matter where you go there will be stray dogs. Many people leave in the street or during natural disasters they get separated from their owners. Usually when people leave them in the streets its either because they don't want them anymore or they have served their purpose as in dog fighting situations.
ReplyDeleteIt´s sad to hear about dogs not being able to eat and be sick all the time. If I was there I would try to save a few of them even if it would not really change anything.
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad to think about all those strays. I hope that the government puts forward legislation to properly take care of the strays.
ReplyDeleteomg its so sad to see these dogs live like this. if i was there i would try to create a national park with food, water and whatever else they needed to survive.
ReplyDeleteDo they eat dogs in India like they do in Asia, do they treat dogs like cows according to their culture and religion.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an interesting breed I wonder if its native to India!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they can come up with better ways to protect strays
ReplyDeletedo the dogs eats, why are they not treated like pets?
ReplyDeleteThese dogs should not be treated like this. Something needs to be done in order to help them out.
ReplyDeleteawe! that is so sad! I dont think i would be able to go there and not want to take one home
ReplyDeletewhen you see the dogs are you scared they are gonna bit you? Also it is really sad to know they have no home
ReplyDeleteAre there places where the stray dogs are rescued and taken care of?
ReplyDeleteIs this dog only in India. I've never saw this dog before. Are there certain dogs there that we do not have here in America.
ReplyDeleteIts sad to know that they dont have a home to go to and that they are not being well taken care of.
ReplyDeleteWhy are the dogs so sick over there? Why don't they treat dogs as pets over in India or treat them the way as they do with the cows?
ReplyDeleteI think that maybe creating a variety of shelters placed throughout india ( Where people can volunteer at) that solely specifies in helping stray dogs get groomed, fed, and placed into good homes can really be a good impact on india.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that these dogs do not have families and cannot eat and be sheltered. Are these dogs hostile or friendly?
ReplyDeleteThe dogs look so sick that they don't even look like dogs anymore that's very sad
ReplyDeleteit doesn't even look like a dog and does the place do for dogs?
ReplyDeleteWhat can of organization are their for these dogs? They don't look like healthy dog. Is there any else the people could do to help these dog not just have areas reserve to protect them but something else.

ReplyDeletethat dog looks like it belongs in a horror movie
ReplyDeleteThat's very sad to see a dog in that condition
ReplyDeleteI now understand that the food conditions and poverty is very bad because even the animals can't find anything
ReplyDeletedid you feed any of the starving animals?
ReplyDeleteThe dog looks super skinny and super hungry, do people kill and eat the dogs for food?
ReplyDeleteThat dog looks really weird.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a program that would help all of the stray dogs.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be as many stray dogs as people there. Its heartbreaking to see how there are stray dogs everywhere
ReplyDeleteDo you think there is a correlation between the over population of people in India versus the over population of stray dogs? Or do you believe it is more leaning towards poverty? People might be too poor to afford caring for an animal. Or do you believe that both the over population AND poverty are contributing factors?
ReplyDeleteIs it a law to feed them ?
ReplyDeleteHow did you feel when you seen the dog ?
ReplyDeletehow many of them did you see while you were there?
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of dog is this? And are there different breeds around India?
