This trip to India would not be possible without the support of the Fund For Teachers. I would like to take the time to thank the organization for the honor of being chosen out of the thousands who applied. In addition, I would also like to thank the organization for their generous $10,000 contribution so that Ms. Dunbar and I will be able to take our students to India via technology.
Fund For Teachers grants teachers fellowships to, "...empower teachers with learning experiences in their hometown and around the world." This gives teachers the opportunity to build knowledge and skills which in return impacts students achievement. This impact is very evident, "Since 2001, Fund For Teachers has invested $22 million on nearly 6,000 teachers, transforming grants into growth for teachers and their students." Above all, Fund For Teachers gives teachers a chance to design their own world study and professional development that offers a "fresh and creative approach to curriculum."
